Dr. Morgan James is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Medication-assisted therapy (MAT) has been proven to be successful in opioid disorders and nicotine disorders. Still, there are no approved medications for the management of psychostimulant use disorders, specifically for substances like cocaine and methamphetamine. Dr. James is developing a therapy with a novel adjuvant that enhances the anti-craving effects of an ultra-low dose of d-amphetamine; this will work as a substitution therapy for psychostimulant use disorders with no abuse potential and can be administered long-term.
