Patrick Kelly

Patrick Kelly, Ph.D., JD is a patent attorney in the Intellectual Property practice group with more than 30 years of experience in life sciences. He also has extensive experience in conducting validity, due diligence, and freedom-to-operate studies; formulating and maintaining biotech IP estates; and preparing and prosecuting patent applications related to the life sciences.

Pat has advised pharmaceutical, biotech and scientific instrumentation companies in all aspects of patent law, including preparing and prosecuting patent applications, formulating, and maintaining biotech intellectual property estates, due diligence, freedom-to-operate studies, and licensing.

He has also represented pharmaceutical companies in intellectual property litigation matters, including patent infringement and abbreviated new drug applications. With a background as an academic scientist, Pat is deeply knowledgeable in biochemistry, immunology, virology, proteomics, genomics, transgenic animals, gene therapy and drug delivery systems.
